Mum at 75

2015-05-03 08.41.06The great role of the mother needs no gloss. You have been instrumental in the hands of God, raising your children with valour and courage. Through thick and thin, you were there for us. Thank you mum as you celebrate your 75th birthday. If I was not privy to your birth date, I would have thought it was your  55th!

Sure you could not have gone this far without being grafted to the true Vine Himself whom, conicidentally, we celebrate specially today in the liturgy. From him, and living with dad, you have learnt to appropiate the words of the good Book “your wife will be like a fruitful vine within your house; your children will be like olive shoots around your table.” (Psalm 128:3)

I just wish to say thank you mum, I could not possibly say it enough. Happy birthday from all of your children, natural and extended, and from all friends near and far.

We are sure that all your children are a gift to the Church, but we especially want to thank you for Father Victor. We have come to know and love him as he served in our parish in Keswick/ Sutton , Ontario. What a beautiful, brilliant , loving priest he is! We were sad when we heard he was leaving us, but know that you must be happy to have him coming home to Nigeria soon.A very happy birthday from your friends in Canada.

    Love,

    Dr.Michael and June Scandiffio

She doesn’t look like she is 75, you’re right Father, she looks only 55. I wish you good health & more birthdays to come.

Thank you for sharing your son, Fr. Victor to the church. This shows how unselfish you are and your greatest gift to the Lord. Touching the lives of many people wherever he is assigned here in Canada. So sad that he is leaving us in the next few months but I know he will be more than happy to be there in his native Nigeria and being close to the family again especially to you, Mum. Happy Happy Birthday.

    With much love and affection,

    Kitz Mercado (Adopted Daughter) (lol)
